Starting the month off, Condon London is an exciting, London-wide collaborative exhibition by 52 galleries across 18 spaces. This is a seriously cool concept – encouraging galleries to play host to visiting galleries to allow for discovery and a thriving international community.  We’ll be using the handy Google Map to plot our route!

London Art Fair 2019

16 – 20 January 2019, Business Design Centre 52 Upper Street London N1 0QH

London Art Fair is a great opportunity to see what top international galleries are offering. On top of this London Art Fair hosts art projects. This year galleries have been invited to collaborate on a shared presentation of works titled Dialogues which showcases contemporary artists from Latin America alongside international names. The Screening Room is also another art project the fair runs where new media art can be seen.

This exhibition cannot be missed. The first major retrospective exhibition of Alber’s work is a refreshing insight into the craftsmanship of a Bauhaus educated student. Discouraged from painting by Oskar Kokoschka, and unable to pursue glass, due to the restrictions placed on women by the institution at that time, Albers honed her skill creating striking, modern geometric designs in pictoral weavings. Fusing Art & Craft Alber’s creations were produced for mass market as well contributing to Modern Art, Design & Architecture. We will be sure to catch this exhibition before the end of the month, so should you!
